Great store-front spot to eat or take out. These are not your overstuffed rice rolls with low grade fish. Classic apps, rolls, pieces, and entrees with flavorful touches. Comfortable with a nice evening ambiance or for lunch at the sushi counter. Can appear to be closed in the evening because they have very dark tinted windows. Funny signs at check in give the impression that they don't mess around with rude tourists, but we found them to be accommodating, friendly, and courteous. Do not attempt with large groups.

I stopped by for lunch in my way from an appointment and I really enjoyed how friendly and attentive the staff were. I thought the quality of the sashimi was good, especially for around here (not very good around northern Florida usually ). My brother got the beef bowl and thought it was really good too. This is a little bit more expensive than I usually pay even for lunch price, but not terrible. I think we spent 42$ for two people (including tip). Portion size was sizeable! And filling! I would stop by here again to try dinner or regular menu and recommend to others. Ambiance was on point Although, it kind of looks closed from outside if you are just trying to look in. (Just a side note). Thank you for having us!

Very enjoyable experience. My neice and I had lunch on a friday. The restaurant is small, 10 or so tables and a bar that seats 15ish. Not a place to bring big groups or a large family on vacation, unless you split up into groups of 2 and 4 to dine. Everything is prepared with quality in mind, cold plates are chilled, sushit rice is room temp, the fish is cut properly in terms of thickness and orientation. The fish itself is mild in flavor, buttery, tender, and refreshing. The staff is also super super friendly. Arrive as though you are guests there to enjoy a wonderful meal and you won't have any issues.

It Took Me a While to Actually Experience Sushimoto due to their Hours and The Fact that they Close for Months in the Summertime, but It Was Definitely Worth it! Best Sushi I have had in Destin!

I'm very happy to have checked this place out after seeing multiple people recommend it on Reddit! My date ordered the steak teriyaki. The steak tasted phenomenal. It was tender, juicy and super flavorful! They also gave a good amount of steak in the dish, along with a side of rice, dumplings and cucumbers in a yummy spicy sauce. Totally worth $20 and we actually went back the next day so I could order it as well lol. I grew up in Florida and miss having accessible sushi places now that I live in a landlocked state. I tried three different rolls, the snow bird, viagra and mango tango. What was fun is that the second time we visited us they let me order a roll of their current menu, called the Mango tango which was fantastic. I love fresh tuna paired with mango. All of the seafood in the rooms was fresh and each one of them was flavorful. I usually prefer sushi with less fried ingredients, but really enjoyed these rolls and would order them again despite my typical preference. Lastly this restaurant gets super packed! It opens at 5 for dinner and we thought we were getting there early at 5:12, but all tables were full and we had to wait 45 minutes. Definitely expect to wait if you plan to eat here and I'd say if your party is larger than 6 people you are better off going somewhere else since their seating arrangement is not fit for extremely large parties. I can't wait to go back when I visit Destin again! It was so delicious and well worth the price! Thank you for the awesome food and service! Also pro tip if it looks dark, still try the door. They have blackout windows that make it look like they are closed.

Ok look, I went on a Monday in early December when every place was empty at 5:50-6pm and the 2 of us faced an hour wait. People were waiting inside, outside, and in their cars! Really good experience with Andy and his joyous crew! It's worth the wait for the "listening room" vibe that keeps you focused on a great food trip- I have never wished I hadn't come to Sushimoto - I even got the t-shirt. True facts. KJH

For the absolute best melt in your mouth sushi - eat here! Your bar for good sushi will be changed and very high after your first bite! This is a family run top notch sushi restaurant with a some daily specials. Not suitable for big crowds or unruly people! My husband loves when they have ramen on the menu since he's not a sushi fan. (He goes for me)
